The Future of Mars Surface Habitation by Fizza Afreen

Once a multitude of future humans begin to embark on missions to Mars, they will need robust habitats to support themselves on the Martian surface for the long term. What might these future human habitats or settlements on Mars look like? This talk will introduce a concept for a Mars surface habitat and showcase the process of utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) text-to-image tools to generate realistic images that bring the concept to life. This presentation focuses on imaginative design concepts and not what is realistically feasible to build today.

Fizza Afreen is a current space architecture graduate student at the Sasakawa International Center for Space Architecture (SICSA), located at the University of Houston. Fizza holds a B.S in Astrophysics from Baylor University.
